Cow Creek Ranch, nestled deep in the wilderness of Santa Fe National Forest and the valleys of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, has served as a relaxing escape for families since the early 1930’s. The ranch, just 40 miles southeast of Santa Fe, is located in the mountains above the small town of Pecos. Formerly known as Martin’s Cow Creek Ranch, Cow Creek Ranch was one of the oldest cattle ranches in the area. Originally the family home of Bob and Louise Martin and their four daughters, the ranch has had a tradition of being family owned and operated for over 70 years. The lodge lies in the center of a lush green valley, which is surrounded on three sides by National Forest and is the home of 3 1/2 miles of Cow Creek. Beautiful mountain lakes scattered throughout the valley provide wonderful fish and waterfowl habitat and reflect the splendor of the surrounding hillsides. It is in a place such as this that one can truly understand why New Mexico has been called “The Land

Pass through the purple gate into an atmosphere that won't intrude upon your sense of privacy, but will offer you the chance to meet fellow travelers and share all the little "secrets" you've discovered on your own.

Exactly one block from the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, our historic inn was built in 1907 as officer's quarters for Fort Marcy. Like several other houses in the McKenzie historic district, the Adobe Abode became a residence in 1910 and only four families lived in it until it became a B&B in 1988. The main house was extensively renovated, followed by new construction over a four year period, keeping the history intact but providing every modern convenience.

Just like the mix of Native American, Hispanic and Anglo cultures in Santa Fe, no two rooms are alike. All have been individually decorated to create an ambiance you won't find repeated anywhere else in the world. National magazines have featured the unique decor of the Adobe Abode. Now you can experience it firsthand.
